Mosaico Festival 2023: A Multidisciplinary Showcase of Music, Art, and Culture in Piazza Armerina
Piazza Armerina, Enna - Mark your calendars for August 3rd to 6th as Mosaico Festival takes center stage in the historic town of Piazza Armerina. This multidisciplinary event will celebrate electronic music as its driving force while exploring various other artistic realms, including cinema, photography, journalism, and architecture.
The festival aims to redefine the way we experience our city spaces by showcasing events, exhibitions, and performances in the most enchanting locations that Piazza Armerina has to offer. This inaugural edition serves as a starting point for what we believe will become one of the most prominent festivals in Sicily in the years to come, breathing new life into the cultural heritage of the region.
Throughout the weekend, attendees will have the opportunity to witness performances by some of the most influential figures in the national and international underground music scene. Cosmo, singer-songwriter and founder of the Ivreatronic collective, has been confirmed for a DJ set on Saturday, August 5th (the only date in Sicily this summer). Other noteworthy acts include Torino Unlimited Noise, who will captivate audiences at Villa Romana del Casale, Yas Reven, and the talented drummer from Catania, Andrea Normanno.
Additionally, thought-provoking discussions will take place with prominent cultural and journalistic figures such as director and cinematographer Daniele Ciprì, REPORT (the most famous italian Tv show about Investigative Journalism) journalist Danilo Procaccianti, and architect Roberto Cremascoli from studio COR.
The festival will kick off with an inaugural event on Thursday, August 3rd, amidst the columns of the Atrium of the Municipal Library, which will serve as the festival's headquarters and host many collateral events throughout the main evenings. The main performances will take place at the Castello Aragonese. On August 4th and 5th, from 9:30 PM for approximately four hours, artists will take turns on stage, offering live performances, DJ sets, and visual installations against a backdrop of rare beauty. The closing night will be held at Villa Romana del Casale, where tradition and avant-garde will converge to create an unparalleled experience.
