COQUELICOT MAFILLE

Italian-French visual artist who lives and works in Milan. Growing up in the multicultural neighborhood of the 18th arrondissement of Paris, she draws inspiration from its various languages and facets. In Milan in the 1990s, she became involved in the Zulu Nation movement, later known as hip hop, alongside graffiti artists and breakdancers. During these formative years, she also frequented the world of skaters and social centers.

Born into a family of artists, she chose to pursue classical studies in high school and political studies at university. Traveling solo is a source of inspiration and knowledge that still fuels her artistic practice, which is expressed through various media such as embroidery, painting, writing, and sound recordings.
