A TWEED
A-Tweed is the moniker of Ant De Oto, an Italian DJ/producer based in Rome. His music is a blend of eclectic elements including acid weird downbeats, dark electronics, EBM, cosmic disco, global bass, tribal techno, and a mix of 360-degree electronic world music.
His DJ sets narrate stories of Black Africa, the alleys of New Orleans or Marrakech, and the endless paths leading from the bustling factories of Glasgow to Buenos Aires, from the Colombian Pacific to the streets of Phnom Penh, and even among taiko players in Japan. In 2020/2021, he released music under the French label Hard Fist and the Argentine Playground Records, featuring remixes by artists like Dengue Dengue Dengue, Carrot Green, Lucas Croon, CAIN, and Fabrizio Mammarella, among others.
He has new music out on labels like Feines Tier (Germany), SABI (Japan), Electric Shapes (Lithuania), Duro (Mexico), Inside Out (United Kingdom), and many more. He is a resident with his program "Coal & Ash Circuit" on Radio Alhara.
A-Tweed also has two parallel projects: the tribal techno duo OBLAKO MARANTA with Russian producer Andrey Redkov of Radial Gaze, and A-TWEED X OLTREFUTURO with Italian producer and sound engineer Valerio Ebert. In this collaboration, they focus on quirky slow rhythms and wobbly acid techno released on labels like Fauna Rêve, Whypeopledance, and the renowned Canadian label Multi Culti.
